Working Moms who take LOs to Day care

So DS will be transitioning to my onsite day care in 2 weeks and will be commuting with me instead of Daddy. I have the feeling like I don?t know what I am in for. I am really excited about being able to nurse instead of pump and drop by any time and being able to check on him when I want. However, I know there are going to be some major changes to my morning routine. Any tips or advice on how to prepare?

  • No advice, just jealous =)  On-site day care has to be one of the best ideas.  Good luck with the transition!

  • My advice is to get diaper bag, lunch, work clothes, and everything eles ready the night before. And wake up 30-45min early. With me i take LO to daycare in the AM and fiance picks her up. I get EVERYTHING ready the night before and then get myself ready first while DD is still sleep. Wake her up to change, feed, then get dressed...while shes relaxing in her bouncer i put everything in the car (daycare bag, my lunch, purse) then i put her in her car seat and go....smooth exit!...Just give yourself enough time in the mornings for spit ups, diaper emergency, things of that sort....good luck

  • Like pp said, do everything you can the night before. I EP, so I have to get up super early to do that and get bottles washed, etc. GL! And congrats on the on-site daycare!

This! Give yourself plenty of time to get ready, because if your LO is like mine, you'll be packed and ready to go, then the baby will poop or spit up. After a few days, you'll find a routine that works best for you, and it'll be a breeze. You can do it!

  • all great advice thanks!~
