Finding/meeing other moms?

I don't really have any friends currently who are moms and am realizing it would be good to find some other moms to make friends with. Although I am not back to work yet, I will be soon which I think will only make that harder. Also, my LO is not really anywhere near old enough for playdates or anything. I thought maybe I'd post here if anyone has any suggestions...maybe some formal, organized groups or something more casual.  I live in Centreville and work in Old Town Alexandria - surely I can find something, right? Thanks for any help!

    I live in Centreville too and have a 3 mo old DD and a 2 year old DD.  I just went back to work this week.  I found that while on leave, and now after I'm back at work, meeting for walks on weekends was nice and then playdates when the babies are older.  Email me at strawbunny23@hotmail.com if you want to try to work something out.  There are 2 other moms on my street with little ones (4 and 5 month olds).

    I found my local mom's group on meetup.com..you should try it.  I am in gainesville, so not close tyou but I am sure there is one in your area...it has been FANTASTIC!!! I joined when DS was about a month old
