Only b/c I'm up and bored.

What is up with all of these a-hole facebook groups (sorry if you are in one - I don't mean you)

I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH. WE ARE IN THE UNITED STATES, LEARN THE LANGUAGE!!
If you can afford alcohol and cigarettes then you don't need Foodstamps.

I saw those gems today - along with the "they should have mandatory drug tests for people on welfare" or whatever.

Who makes up this stuff?

    I agree with them, so i don't think they are "a-hole" groups....I don't think I belong to them though. lol

    You think it's ok for those on food stamps to buy alcohol and cigarettes (it would be with the cash they are allowed to take off their EBT cards)?

    I bet a mandatory drug test would weed out a lot of folks abusing the welafre system too.

    I should never have to press one or any number for that matter for English on a recording, unless of course I am in another country.

    People who are aggravated with the system and wish to have a voice are the ones who make this stuff up

    I'm with you Telyco- when I see those it makes my blood boil.  I've actually deleted "friends" because of them.

    And FWIW- we do not have an official language in the US and many of our ancestors came here unable to speak English (and many, like my Polish great-grandmother refused to learn).  Most immigrants do end up learning English but are they supposed to be disconnected from all the things we have access to until they learn?  Are those few seconds it takes to press one for English really that bothersome?

    I'm sorry, but these are my exact feelings too. With that being said, I don't belong to the groups either... I actually don't think I belong to any groups on FB. hah.

    Oh I'm not saying I WANT people to buy that stuff with welfare....I just mean that it's pretty a-holish to create a facebook group about it. It's like sitting there and thinking.....hmmm...how can I spread negativity and hate today? It's quite redneck, IMO.

    I just wished that people could do thing to help others instead. Like those abortion protesters...instead of spreading HATE - why not work on the front lines promoting safe sex or counseling pregnant teens on adoption, etc. But yeah, that's way off topic.

    I'm a lover not a fighter. Haha!
