Since I'm a teacher DS hasn't been at daycare all summer...when he left in June he was still doing purees, which were of course so easy to send! Now he's eating tons of stuff, but honestly, I usually just put a hodge podge of things on his high chair tray (dinner tonight was 1/2 a banana, pasta with sauce, and some shredded cheese) . DCP provides meals for kids over 1, but I need to think of things to send him for a few months (that are preferably pretty easy to put together the night before!). Any advice?
TIA!
Re: daycare lunches
I generally send a hodgepodge that they feed him throughout the day (not just a set "lunch"). I send some combination of little take-n-toss containers with: cheese cubes; blueberries, raisins, or a banana; mixed vegetables (those frozen ones that come in a bag); pasta with sauce or macaroni and cheese (homemade, with whole wheat pasta); yogurt; dry cereal; cut up chicken mixed with a puree; avocado. In the morning he also usually still gets a bowl of oatmeal with a fruit puree mixed in.
I usually send three-four of these, and he also has puffs and yogurt melts there if he needs a snack. He has oatmeal around 8, then has the snacks around 10, 2, and 4 (bottles of BM at 9, 12, and 3).
