Hello ladies,
Do you have some good recommendations for DVD exercises?
I am an avid exerciser so would prefer something more intense. I like everything- running, yoga, aerobics, any type of exercise as long as it's a bit demanding. I know as pregnant we should be careful, but I also think our bodies can take a little challenge.
I was reading about "Hot Mamas Exercise Prenatal Conditioning | Fitness Level: ***"... has anyone tried these? Don't want to waste my money on stuff I won't like.
Thank you,
Felicia
Re: Work Out DVD's recommendations
I would highly recommend Suzanne Bowen's Long and Lean Prenatal Workout.
I work out often, run/yoga/pilates, and this workout kicks my butt!
Thank you, Stacy. The DVD has great reviews on Amazon, I will go ahead and get it:)
Feli
I really like Lindsay Brin's Moms Into Fitness dvds, they are separated by trimester, I like having the workout tailored to your stage in pregnancy. It combines cardio, strength, and stretching. The workout portion is between 30-40 minutes long (depending on the trimester) and each dvd contains a 20 minute yoga section as well.
Before getting pregnant, I was a regular exerciser. I found her dvds to be just right for me.
Hmm, I might have to try Brinn's too.
And yes, I actually picked Bowen's video because it was the best rated one on Amazon. Loving it.
Not loving so much, but do them anyway: Gaiam Shiva Rea's Prenatal Yoga and Yoga for your Pregnancy (with Kristen Eykel). Yoga is great, but I just feel like I work my muscles harder with Bowen's.
Hi Feli - if you like vinyasa yoga, I just started using Jennifer Wolfe's prenatal vinyasa yoga DVD. At 75 minutes (!) my calves are still killing me. It was definitely a solid workout, and she has a 2nd tri and a 3rd tri girl on either side of her to demonstrate adjustments. I bought the 2-DVD set that includes the "short forms" (15, 30, 45 min workouts) because I don't always have 75 minutes to spend on yoga...!
