We'd suspected it but didn't have proof until last night - when suddenly, voila, two emerging teeth, front and center, on both Will and Dash. My boys are going to look like adorable bucktoothed chipmunks lol.
Their fussing has been increasing the last few days, and yesterday evening there were several bouts of flat out hysterical screaming (for up to an hour at a time) from both boys. I'm talking scream for 45 min, fall into an exhausted sleep for 10, wake up, scream for 30, sleep for 5, etc. Anyway, there aren't any all-night pharmacies here so in desperation at bedtime we finally gave them each a little infant Tylenol - drugs are not my first choice when it comes to teething, but it was all we had in the house. They both settled down within 10 minutes and finally slept for the first time in hours (and actually slept soundly through the night for the first time in a week) so I'm pretty sure it was the teething pain that was causing the screaming fits.
Anyway, we do have some teething rings and toys but they don't particularly love them, and I have some Sophies heading our way. I'm going to the pharmacy today to pick up some teething remedies. Does anyone have any recommendations? What works the best for you? I probably can't get the same brand here, but if you know what the primary ingredient is then I can look for something similar (for example, I think chamomile is a main ingredient in a lot of homeopathic teething tablets?).
And Tina, since you're in Australia, any suggestions for things you know we have here? A couple parents have mentioned Bonjela to me - any good?

Oohhh congrats on the toothy-pegs!
I was surprised to see Sam's teeth pop up when she was 5 mths but your boys are in a hurry to get the pearly whites happening!
I tried Bonjela on Maya and it never really seemed to do anything. I used SM-33 teething gel, which did it's job. I actually had a tooth infection at one stage and I rubbed some of it on the infected area, on the gums and it took a fair amount of my pain away...so that's a good barometer!
You can buy it at any pharmacy.

There's also this. I bought it but never opened it so it kinda sat on the shelf forever lol. Hence, I can't tell you whether it's good or not but I've heard good things about it. It's homeopathic (sp?).

Yeah, Ben got his at 3 months so I knew it was a definite possibility...I suspected they were starting at about 3.5 months, and now it's definitely confirmed and they're only turning 4 months this Saturday!
I'll pick up some SM-33, thank you!!!

Late here, but we also do teething tablets (Humphrey's Teething Strips for on-the-go and the little pellets for at home), amber necklace and at night or when it's really bad 0.8 mL acetaminophin (pedi says to give her 1.6 mL but I figure if half of that does the job why give more?)...we tried ibuprophen twice (it supposed to last longer) but she instantly gags and projectile vomits when we do, so acetaminophin it is.
Julie, you might try lactose-free ones...that's the kind we get for Libby and they don't seem to cause her gas or bowel issues.
We never leave home without Sophie the Giraffe! She also likes this Raz Berry Teether:
We also a have a water-filled ring teether that vibrates when pressure is applied but she cannot bite it hard enough to get it to work. So, lame.
