Trying to Get Pregnant

For those who got off bcp in the past 6 months...

And your cycle's have been an average length...(mine have been 29 days consistently) since May when I stopped taking them. I haven't started temping but I'm going to start next month if this isn't "the" month. What has been your O day? I've been more aware of my cm but haven't been keeping track yet so I don't know which day O is. We have been BD'ing EOD from CD 10-19 which doesn't mean anything really if I O early or late. BUT just wondering what other ladies have going on thanks!!

Re: For those who got off bcp in the past 6 months...

  • being on BC doesn't alter your cycles..is that what you are getting at?

I was off my OCP's last year for about 5 months or so. My cycles were 26-33 days in length. BUT, I don't think OCP's made that so. It took about two cycles for me to be able to see a pattern.

This time, I just finished my pills the end of July, so this is only my first cycle and too early to say.

I think temping will tell you alot more! Good luck

  • I was on NuvaRing until this past May. My normal cycles were anywhere from 27-29 days. The last couple months off BC my cycles have been longer and with temping/OPK I O'd on CD 22.

    HTH!

  • I went off BCP in March. My cycles are around 33 days, and I still consider them to be an average length (except one month when it was 41 days). I O between CD19 and CD21.

Chances are, if you O'd and if your cycles are 29 days, then you probably did catch your fertile period with your schedule for having sex (you can say sex here). Charting will help you confirm that O did occur and when.

  • Hi, I went off BCP in April and have had a very consistent cycle of 29 days too ever since.  I only started temping and charting this cycle and according to FF I O'd on CD13.  I have experienced O pain every cycle since coming off BCP and it occurs between CD 12 and 14, so I thinks its safe to say I O between CD 13 & 15.  I also started using OPKs this month, maybe consider those as well. Good luck!

Huh? Yes it can....BCPs can completely change someone's cycle from what it was pre-BCP. And it can take up to a year for a woman to regulate after BCPs....even then, cycles can be a completely different length from before BCPs.

  • I stopped taking BC in the beginning of April.  Since then, my cycles have been 36, 31 (O CD21), 34 (O CD24).  This one is on CD37 and I O'ed CD28.

For me, my O date keeps getting later and later.  I hope it stabilizes soon and stops moving.  Good luck - I would definitely start temping your cycles so you can have confidence in your timing.

  • My average cycle length is 31, and I have ovulated on CD 15 twice, and CD 18 twice. But your own ovulation could be different. Most luteal phases are between 10 and 16 days long (mine is about 14), so if your cycles have been 29 days long since you've been OFF BC, then I'd say you could ovulate anywhere from CD 13 to CD 19. However, I think you'll learn much more when you start temping.

    Good luck!

  • I went off BCP in May and since then my cycles have ranged from 27-31 days and I've ovulated on CDs 17-19. I'm still waiting to ovulate right now and I'm on CD 17.

Not that it alters your cycle but that it can take a while to get to a normal pattern I guess is what I was trying to say. But then again I guess it doesn't really matter if you were on bc if your cycles are pretty consistent.

  • Cycle 1: 28 days, O on day 21 (Short LP, Boo.)

    Cycle 2: 28 days, O on day 14 (YAY!)

Cycle 3: 29 days, O on day 21 (Short LP, Boo.)

Cycle 4: Currently on day 15 with no O yet, so I'm afraid I may have another short LP.  =,(

  • I got off BCP in May...

First cycle - 32 days. I wasn't temping, but I am pretty positive I did not ovulate that cycle.

Second cycle - 28 days, ovulated on Day 16.

Third cycle - I haven't been a good temper, but it looks like I O'd somewhere around Days 16 - 19, and I am currently on Day 29, hoping for an end sometime soon!

  • I'm on cycle three after going off the pill.  Cycles 1 and 2 were 28 and 29 days, and I O'd on day 14 of both.  That probably won't continue, but I'm hoping it does :)

  • I stopped BCP at the end of last year.  All of my cycles are between 25-28days, I tend to O between cd 12-15.

Before I started bcp, my cycles were 25-28 days as well, so I guess that is normal for me

However keep in mind whatever my cycle does has nothing to do with your cycle.  You need to figure out what is "normal" for you before you can make any conclusions.

    Totally agree.  Everyone is different.

I went off BC in May and I'm on my 3rd cycle....

    Cycle 1:  36 days, O'd on CD 24

    Cycle 2: 32 days, O'd on CD 20

Cycle 3: I'm on CD 23.  Today might be O, I'm not sure.  I thought it was CD21 but then my temp dropped today, so I'm still waiting to see what my next few temps do.
