I'm new here. Thinking about ttc #2 soon. I'll be 35 in January. Looking at this board is a little scary because it seems like many are having a hard time getting pregnant. Is anyone on here trying to get pregnant without special treatments? Or anyone that has gotten pregnant without treatments?
Re: Anyone on this board ttc without treatments?
Yes. I am ttc without treatments. Even though I'm 36 my doctor wants us to try for a year before we even talk about it. I did get pregnant right away, but had a m/c a couple weeks later. Haven't had any luck since. Today's the day that I'm expecting AF, so I'm on pins and needles. So far she hasn't made an appearance. If she doesn't show today I will test tomorrow morning.
Don't let us oldies scare you off! Most of the women that don't have to do treatments are here and gone quickly....it's just that as you get older (I'm 40) you need to be open to see a specialist and do what it takes to start a family.
If you check out pga35 you will see many women who didn't need help...and have never ventured over here:)
This place is a really great board with a ton of supportive women...part of the reason some us with IF don't want to leave
GL on #2!!
I conceived DS right around my 35th birthday(give or take a few days) without any treatments and am slowly getting into TTC #2 at 36 without any treatments.
This is a great board filled with great girls using myriad ways to TTC and everybody's here to support each other.

I'm 36, and we haven't considered treatments yet. Had a chem pregnancy, which gives me hope that things are at least working up to the fertilization point. We've been trying for about 7 months (with a couple of gaps,) so i'm not sure when to consider investigating fertility.
But yeah, i was also a bit intimidated by the treatment posts. (I'm hesitant to comment on some posts, too, b/c i don't know much about it, and i am still getting the hang of the lingo.)
Antagonist IVF 7 retrieved, 4 fert w/ICSI&AH, 2 blasts transferred. Beta #1 9/20: 367 Beta #2 9/22: 841
I'm 38 and not getting treatments ... but we just started ttc. My doctor told me to try for about 6 months, and if nothing happens then make an appointment with her.
AF is 2 days late on my very first cycle off of BCP, but I'm sure that's only because I just got off BCP and I'm all messed up ... and why I got my first BFN. I don't know if I'm prepared for this rollercoaster. lol
I think I'm in a weird category: it took us 2 years to conceive DD #1, finally had her via IVF with ICSI. I conceived her at 33 and had her at 34. Now, when TTC #2, we tried for two months naturally and then did an IVF with ICSI that failed. The month after the failed IVF, I conceived naturally, only used my CBEFM. I conceived #2 at 35 and had her at 36.
When TTC #1 we definitely weren't using treatments until after 1 year of trying and 2 miscarriages. Then we went through the cycles of Clomid, IUI and eventually IVF (had a chem pg with an IUI and a lost twin with the IVF that we had my daughter with). It was a long and difficult journey, so we decided to TTC #2 sooner rather than later and I jumped into fertility treatments quickly figuring we'd need it again to conceive. Was absolutely beyond thrilled that we not only were able to conceive on our own but that we did it so quickly, at least for us anyway (it was our 4th month of trying, incl. the IVF month).
I got pregnant at 37 no problem and was 38 when delivered. I am not having treatments yet. I can get pregnant but I keep miscarrying. Its not that hard, just try and charting will help you get the timing right. Then at least you will know what you need to do after some charting and stuff, if you dont get pregnant. Quit thinking about it and just try, the longer you put it off the harder it may be as you get older. BEst of luck

I'm not doing treatments. I wouldn't mind trying an IUI, but DH is against any treatments. we've been trying for #2 for 11 cycles. sigh. we met with an RE to get tested and everything came back fine for both DH and me. I had a chem pg a few months ago, so we know we're able to conceive.
I had #1 just two months shy of my 35th birthday. it took us only two months of trying that time around, so I'm completely shocked that it has been 11 cycles without success. I'm two weeks from turning 38 now, by the way.
this is an awesome board. lots of support.
I hope your stay is brief here!
SO true.
I conceived twice at age 36, but had 2 miscarriages. I had just started seeing an RE at the time (because we had been trying for 6 months), but then I got pregnant. Then after my first m/c we had testing done, only to find out I was pregnant again (the testing came back basically fine). I had the 2nd m/c in April.
I tried clomid last month, but I didn't have a good response and I also had bad side effects. So now we are trying on our own again for another month or two. This is our 4th cycle trying post the 2nd m/c. If I don't get pregnant in the next 2 months we will try an IUI, but it will most likely unmedicated. Good luck.
Me. Ok, technically I tried one round of Clomid, in July, but that didn't get me pregnant. I have a consultation scheduled with the RE for next month. Other than that, just been trying naturally for 16 months now. I turned 35 in May. Have 3 children from my first marriage but they are 10, 12 & 17. It's been a little while since my body did this.
Good luck to you.
