Does anyone have this car seat? I am wanting to get my DD a FF carseat, but I am so nervous about the transition. Half of me wants to keep her in RF because its the safe thing to do. But I think she would enjoy car rides more if she was FF.
How did the Transition go for you?
Re: Graco/FF Car Seats
Is she miserable RFing? Throwing up? Personally, just "enjoying car rides more" would not be a good enough reason for me to switch my DD. Why not buy a convertible seat that can be installed RFing and FFing, that way you can switch her later?
She has a perfectly fine RF car seat now. That link above is a FF car seat that grows with her into a booster. I dont really want to purcahse 3 different car seats that all do the same thing.
What car seat do you have right now?
I have a Radian 65SL so DD will be FF in that until 65lbs or until she outgrows it height wise. After that, I plan on maybe getting this booster. I don't think I need the one with a back but will probably get it just in case she needs to use it in someone else's car.

I am curious to know what seat you have because depending on what it is, you may be able to keep your LO in it until time for a booster without buying another expensive seat.
If you bought a convertible, that could accomodate your child until they were big enough for a simple booster. So 2 seats, not 3.
We have the Nautilus for DD but she's 4. She's been in it since she was just a bit older than 3 (we moved DS into her Britax and got the Nautilus for her). I love it for DD, but it is a big seat. Personally I wouldn't feel as comfortable with a one year old in it. DS is 18 months and he'll occasionally climb into her seat (he is still RF in his marathon) and he looks swamped in it.
you definitely will need a booster with a back. Backless boosters are not a good choice until about 7 years old.
I was going by www.car-safety.org:
"
- Use a high back model if your vehicle has low seat backs
with no head rests. Some models may offer increased side impact protection.
- A backless model is fine if your vehicle has headrests,
or if there is plenty of growing room from the tops of your
child's ears up to the top of the seat back"
Hopefully she will fit in the Radian until 6ish anyway.......Aside from the fact that I'm risking my child's life for turning her at 16 months instead of well past the age of 2...
DD2 outgrew one of her convertible seats in shoulder height a couple months ago. We chose to get "the last car seat you'll have to buy" (the Nautilus) for her to replace that. DD1 has been in one pretty much since they came out a couple years ago and we were very happy with it.
We currently own four Nautilus seats between all the cars the girls ride in regularly. That is what we'll buy to replace as DD2 outgrows her Roundabout and Marathon.
At nearly 4.5 and 42+ inches tall (with a long torso), DD1 still has another couple inches before she outgrows the shoulder harness. For the price, I love the extended harness option and convertibility into both types of boosters the girls will need.
We have a Graco Alano travel system car seat with the matching stroller. I love it and she fits in it fine. Its my SO that keeps talking about turning her around. Im still half and half on it.
The one i have now, the one you are recomending, and a booster. 3 seats.
