Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

OMG!!!

DS was playing in his crib this morning and I heard a loud boom. Walked into his room and he had flipped over the rail and onto the floor. He was crying but there were NO marks anywhere on his little body. I am hoping that it just scared him more than hurting him. He was perfectly fine once I picked him up and started to console him. Then he was laughing and playing. I guess it is time to actually move the mattress down some more. I didn't realize he was that tall. DH and I have already moved it down twice but there are still 2 more spots to go down. I couldn't believe it. Thank God he is ok!

Re: OMG!!!

  • Poor little guy!

When we moved our mattresses, we went from highest position to lowest and never even stopped in between!  We just figured it would be less of a bother later!  If I were you, I'd just hit the bottom level now and be done with it.

So far, the boys can't escape, but they're starting to climb, so I think it's coming soon.

  • It really ought to be as low as it can go once they start pulling up. Very glad he's OK!
  • Yeah DH moved it to the lowest position. No more moving it now.

Yeah, that's what we did, too.

  • Oh no!  This was my biggest fear, so we moved the mattress to the lowest position months ago.  I'm actually shocked DS hasn't tried to climb out yet.

We moved ours all the way down too. The same thing happened to DD when it was on the highest. I had no idea she could even stand in it really and suddenly she fell. So it went down to the lowest level.
