  Garden City Hospital is a small neighborhood hospital that you might run to if you had an emergency.  I had good experiences there many years ago with minor things (like stitches), but I wouldn't go there for anything L&D related.

  My best friend delivered a baby at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia and had a great experience.  Personally, I like the atmosphere, and was very impressed with the rooms when I went to visit her.  I've also been to St. Mary's for a few small things like physical therapy and x-rays and have been pleased.

  Between the two, I would definitely go with St. Mary's!  In either case, go check out the hospital first for yourself

  For what it's worth, I delivered at Oakwood a couple years ago and had a decent but not awesome experience.  This time, I switched to Henry Ford West Bloomfield.  There are a lot of hospital options in the area, and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one that you'll be happy with.

  Thanks.  The issue is that I am now on my husbands insurance and these two are the closest hospitals to us that are in next work and its still a 45 min drive.  The next closest one is on Toledo and I just don't want to go down there.  So it's between one of the two.  I think I will go with the doctor that I have picked out that uses St. Mary  and if I decide that I'm unhappy then I will check out the Garden City Hospital.  What makes it hard is that I have to make a real quick move (like today) if I want to get in to get my first tri. test at the hospital. Thanks agian.

  I had my baby at St Marys in Feb and had a fabulous experience.  Loved the staff, nice room, great lactation consultants.  Feel free to ask any questions you have.
