TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

anyone with PCOS?

This will be our last cycle of actively TTC for awhile but I have noticed something.  FF took away my crosshairs yesterday.  I have had 4 almost + OPKs this cycle on various days and have EW at random times too.  I just did the chart overlay with a previous cycle that was like this  that lasted 45 days and they are very similar.  After doing some reading it seems that I might have some characteristics of PCOS.  Does anyone have any insight on this?

I've had in the back of my mind for awhile it might be time to see a doctor but part of me is afraid to go because I don't want to be told something is wrong with me that can't be fixed.  I know it is silly and it is better to know, but I just can't seem to shake that fear.

I appreciate the support ladies, Thank you!

Re: anyone with PCOS?

  • I have PCOS, and you will get false positives on OPKs.  I do ovulate but it happens around CD30.  We tried Clomid, and I'm going to start injectables next month to see if it will help me O earlier.  I have gotten pregnant when I O'd late, but that might have been what was causing my m/c.  I know some people with PCOS don't ovulate at all.  It's scary to know something's wrong but PCOS can be worked with.  If you think you might have it, I'd ask for bw and an u/s.  On the bloodwork, if your LH is higher than your FSH on CD3 (I think it was CD3,) it's an indicator for PCOS, and LH is what the OPK looks for.  That's why you'll get the false positives, I THINK.  You might want to google it because I'm telling you this off the top of my head.  HTH!

  • I have PCOS.  While I understand going to the dr can be scary, it's so empowering to know what your dealing with.  PCOS can be very treatable.  My cycles are super crazy and I have EWCM at all sort of times, I've never seen a positive OPK, but I haven't used them for long.  I don't normally O and when I do it's very late, which may be part of our problem.
