Maximus, Maxwell, or Maximilian what would you think? I can't seem to come up with any little boy names that I love so my DH has taken it upon himself to find a name that he loves and maybe I will learn to love it. I really thought that he had decided on Dylan Thai(DH first name) which I do like very much. He then came home last night with these other 3 names. He said that he had been thinking about them for a while but did not want to tell me yet in case I feel in love and then he changed his mind. I *think* I like Maxwell the most and then Maximus but I can't decide if I feel like it sounds like a snotty rich kid. What do you think? Is this a name that can grow with the child? I'm sure he will be Max at some point. Thanks so much for the help ladies!
Re: If you see a kid named....
I like Maxwell. Maximus and Maximillian - not at all.

Maximus and Maximilian make me think the parents have a Gladiator obsession.
I love Maxwell.
I think Dylan Maxwell would be a great name!
If I saw a kid names Maximus or Maximilian, I would think 'pretentious.' Those sound like snotty rich kids to me.
I don't get that feel from Maxwell at all- I actually really like that name. It can definitely grow with him, and it sounds very smart, not snotty.
I love the name Max, so much so that we have chosen it for a name if we have a boy. I really don't care for any of the long versions and so thats why we chose "just" Max.
But, if I has to choose it would be Maximus.
This. Please use Maxwell if you are going that route.
I know a Maximus. He is 8 and adorable. Not rich by any means. He goes by Max most of the time.
Out of the 3 suggestions, I like Maximus the best.
I also wanted to name my son Oliver but husband vetoed it. That is why it is his middle name. : )

DS is Maxwell and we mostly call him Max. I know we aren't rich and I'm fairly certain that we aren't pretentious either
I liked Maxwell the most out of the three versions you listed, but I was kind of hoping for Maximo - which was my Filipino great-grandpa's name, but DH vetoed it.
Honestly - I wasn't a huge fan of Maxwell at first, but it has really grown on me and I'm glad that we chose it for DS. I like the formal name/nickname option though.
Maximus: The hip, urban version of Max
Maxwell: The rich, old money version of Max
Maximilian: The Catholic version of Max
(Although I just consulted my 1940s "Is it a Saint's Name" pamphlet and it turns out that both Maximus and Maximilian are saint's names.)
Definitely prefer Maxwell. Maximus and Maximillian sound like cartoon characters.
Maxwell is cool. The others, not so much.
Lebron James' son is Bryce Maximus...Maxmilian sounds pompous.
