when did you have your maternity photo shoot?

I'm scheduled to have my maternity photo session next weekend (31 weeks) but i'm my belly is relatively on the small side :-/. not sure if i want to wait until early october (photographer's next availability). i don't know if i want to wait until then because (1) who knows if baby j comes way early and (2) my face might start to get puffy and swollen then? :-/

I was 28 weeks and in retrospect wished that my bump had been bigger but then the weather would have been crappy and the fall leaves all gone by then. I did get the puffy lips/face thing aroun 34 weeks but my bump was nice and big then too. *sigh*

I originally scheduled for 28 weeks but pushed it back because my bump was tiny. Ended up doing it at almost 35 weeks and I think it was just right because my bump was nice and big but my face wasn't TOO chubby.

I never got a puffy face at the end... I think that doesn't usually happen until you are in the hospital and they jack you up with liquids through the IV. At least that was what I found... Most women who look normal till the end look puffy in the pics of them with the baby right after birth because of the IV fluids. The puffyness goes away fast.

Do you know if you and DH were early? That can be an indicator. Plus first babies are usually late. I'd probably wait, but if you want to be safe then do it now.

i took mine at 32 weeks & I wish I had taken them sooner. (the plan was to take them at 30 weeks but the July 4th holiday and some bad weather interrupted our plans. I am really swollen in my hands, feet & nose. Maybe it is just luck (no high blood pressure - knock on wood), but I feel like I look like a big, fat truck driver (no offense to any truck drivers reading this!) in a lot of the mat pics (probably why my favorite pics are belly only...i.e. see siggy pic!)

Thanks! I'll go ahead and have my photo session at 31 weeks. I don't want to take a chance and wait until October when I am about 37 weeks. So far, I do not have a puffy face or have had any swelling but I know anything can happen :-P.

I had them scheduled for 36 weeks and went into labor at 35 weeks and 2 days so needless to say, they got cancelled! Bummer for us! We did take some pictures in the yard a few days before I went into labor. Guess that was our maternity shoot Smile

Part of me is scared that this may happen to us that is why I'll play it safe and go ahead with this week's photo session! lol. At least you got some maternity photos prior to L&D.

i definitely would not wait until 37 weeks...not b/c you might go early but you'll be uncomfortable and possibly swollen. i think i did mine around 34/35 weeks?? by then my face was definitely bigger than normal (not sure if it was baby weight or swelling??) but i wasn't too uncomfortable. if it was a difference of a few weeks i'd say wait but since it would be pushing it back to 37 wks i would do it now. can't wait to see the pics
