Does anyone else just not feel like cooking?

I never feel like cooking dinner anymore, ever. I feel bad but id always rather get take out. DH doesn't cook so it literally is I cook or we get take out. Zero motivation. Anyone else feel like this?

Re: Does anyone else just not feel like cooking?

  • I never felt like cooking before my BFP and I definitely don't feel like doing it now.  DH will cook so that is good because otherwise he'd constantly be eating out, or he'd starve.

  • Yep!  I love to cook and bake and I have had zero motivation.  Opening a can of soup sounds so much better than making the effort for dinner.  Luckily my husband is so understanding and just rolls with whatever I feel like for the day.
  • This is exactly me right now.  It's so sad because I LOVE cooking.  It's like my passion.  I just can't do it right now.  Ugh!

  • I don't feel like cooking mostly because food does not sound good at all.  I've been living off of tea and crackers the last two days.
  • Yes. I felt that way through most of my first trimester. Normally I love to cook, but nothing seemed appetizing, not to mention my lack of energy. By the 10th-11th week I was feeling back to normal. You will too.. Smile

  • I don't feel like cooking, either.  My girlfriend said she feels the same way.

  • I love cooking but lately I haven't had the energy to do it. It's such a let down to go through all the work and only eat a few bites. Snacking throughout the day is probably the main reason I have no desire to cook a big meal.
  • Yes.  I'm really tired, and it doesn't help that ds is super crab around dinner time.

  • I constantly cooked before our housr caught on fire (3 weeks before BFP)  so up until a week ago we constantly ate takeout, because we had to live in a hotel. But now that we are at home that's the last thing I want to do.

Actually today I am supposed to be doing laundry and cleaning home but I have zero motivation!

  • Yep! I miss cooking, but I honestly don't have the energy or the stomach to attempt anything.

  • I feel the same way!  Yesterday, DH and my brother in law were changing the breaks on my car.  The worked on it for about 4-5 hours (I wasn't doing much inside).  I asked what they wanted for dinner, my brother in law said, "what are you making?," my response, "a phone call for pizza/wings or reservations."
  • I'm so happy someone posted this -- I feel so much better!  I just have NOT felt like cooking/making anything for a few weeks now.  My DH doesn't cook, but luckily is content with cereal or toast.  I'm pretty tired of cereal, lol!  Happy to hear this will hopefully go away and my motivation/energy will return soon.
  • omg!  i thought it was just me. lol!  all i want to do is sleep.  all domestic duties are out the window.  i only push myself to do what is absolutely necessary and cooking hasn't been on the list.  dh doesn't cook so it's been take out with an occasional meal from mom.
  • Same deal here.  I usually love to cook and plan out food, but just don't have any want to eat! It's weird because I'll be hungry, but NOTHING sounds good.  Before I was pregnant I was always really specifically craving things, and now I'm either revolted or just don't care!
