I just have to AW! I joined WW today and I'm so excited! This is actually the second time I've done it. The first time was like 7 years ago and it really worked for me. Anyway, I'm so happy to get back on track and lose some weight!!
Cool! I just started sort of... I'm not doing the meetings but my aunt works for them and set me up with all the stuff. I've been doing the journal for the last 1.5 weeks and I love it!
That's awesome. I have a couple friends that have done it and were successful. What do the meetings consist of?
Well, when you first get there, you weigh in. Not like in front of everyone, just in front of one of the ladies who works there and they record your weight. During the meeting, the "leader" starts out with congratulating everyone who met a milestone that week - weight loss in 5 pound increments, met some sort of personal goal, etc. That's my favorite part, I love hearing about other people's success, it makes me feel like I can succeed too. Cheesy I know, but this is why I go to the meetings. Then after the congratulating part, there's always a topic. Like today's topic was "closet eating". Turns out A LOT of us do this, myself included. The leader does most of the talking but anyone in the meeting can just chime in whenever. The weigh in is before the meeting and the meeting itself is 30 minutes.
Good luck!! I'm a lifetime member - but currently over my goal weight. I'm trying to get back under by counting points again. Trying to convince myself to go to meetings as well ... but I don't want to pay!! lol..

Me too. I actually worked for WW for a couple years after reaching goal (lost 60 pounds, woot woot!) The program really does work well for most folks, and I love that it is RESEARCH based, and is constantly changing to accommodate new bodies of research about how food and lifestyles affect weight and health. It's not some gimmicky crap, and it's not prepackaged. I know a few people who've had success on NutriSystem, but what do ya do when you've lost the weight and nobody's sending you prepackaged meals anymore? WW teaches you to eat right.
Good luck to you, and good job getting motivated! All this weight talk will hopefully amp me up to get these 15 pounds off! Let us know how your first weigh-in goes!
