Waterbirth at St. Joseph's St. Paul?

Hi, does anyone have recommendations for doing a water birth at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul? Any good midwife recommendations? Everything I read about water births sound amazing and I would love to hear about local experiences. Thanks!

  • FYI- Your doctor must be certified!  We are looking at doing this too!

  • Wanted to do it, but due to GD and Pre-E, not a candidate.  I would go under local tribes on www.mothering.com and ask the ? there.
  • We're planning - hoping! - for a water birth (I'm due in a month). We took the maternity ward tour early on, to learn more about the hospital and the water birth tub/process. It was a long tour, but informative. We then took our birthing class at St. Joe's and really are happy with the teachers and information. I go to Generations clinic in Shoreview and have been very satisfied with the midwives and nurses there. They will deliver at St. Joe's or St. John's.

     Good luck!!

  • Not sure about St. Johns or Joe's as we delivered our first at Woodwinds Health campus.  TTC our second now and I am going to stick with woodwinds.  Great Doctors, two water birthing rooms and the most relaxed atmosphere I have encountered.
  • My sister toured several hospitals and selected St. Joe's - she'll have a waterbirth there in October.
