Pull ups or cotton training pants?

I am going to attempt potty training with DD.  My SIL said to just ditch the diapers and throw on underwear but my entire house (except kitchen) is carpet and I don't want to spend entire days cleaning pee and poo stains out of it so I thought it'd be better to get those cotton training pants (Gerber brand) or pull ups.  Which do you recommend? TIA

    We do underwear except for nap and bed. It was messy-ish when she wasnt ready but when she figured it out the 2nd time we tried we rarely have much more than a drop.

    We tried the Pull-Ups, but DD pretty much treated them like diapers, so it didn't really help her potty-train. I just got some of the cotton training pants and will try those next.

    I have the gerber cloth and carter's cloth. Big benefit is that when she wets in them she makes a wet spot not a puddle and if she is standing it isn't a mess on the rug. it is still very wet like underwear much more than pull ups. She has to wear those to dc.
