BJ City Mini & Infant Seat

Are there any infant seats that securly snap into the City Mini? The Graco Snugride didn't seem very secure unless the strap was buckled. I'm wondering if a different brand fits differently.

Re: BJ City Mini & Infant Seat

  • the snug ride is super secure but use the strap anyway!  Remember, the weight of the baby will help hold the seat in place.  When we first put it on (without the baby) it seemed really loose too, but I promise with the baby in there and the strap on (USE the strap!), it is super safe and secure.

Same here. I've read that some people end up having to use the strap to get the Chicco Keyfit secure, even with the Chicco-specific adapter, but I've read other cases where it's just a matter of pushing a little harder.  Our stroller and adapter are on their way, so I'll post my experience next week.

I already have the City Mini, but was torn on the infant seat. If the Chicco seat is more secure (without the strap), then that's the direction I'm going.

    Thanks girls!

  • I can put my Chicco car seat on the adaptor and it snaps in secure enough that you could lift the entire stroller by picking up from the car seat handle. Obviously this isn't something you do with your baby in the seat. But it fully snaps in and is secure. We use the straps all the time though.
  • We just got ours last week. It took a little bit for me to figure out how to snap it in place, but it def. does snap. Whoever posted about pushing it in harder was def. right. You just have to move it a little and push down on the handle into the adapter and it snaps. I will still use the strap, but it does feel secure.

    This is my experience too.

  • I have the regular snugride and it snaps in very securely to the adaptor.  I think some people don't have the adaptor in the correct position or don't place the car seat in correctly.  If you do it right it snaps in completely and isn't going anywhere.  I don't even use the straps it's that secure.

  • We went with the Peg Perego and the universal mounting bar.  The Peg snaps into place and it feels super snug and firmly in place.  LO isn't here yet but we LOVE it and the functionality it is going to provide soon!
