Baby Names

One syllable first and last name

Do you think they sound ok?  We're will be using a 3-4 syllable middle name but don't think that matters much b/c you don't typically use all 3 names together.

First name Grace w/ a 4 letter last name ending in LL.

Re: One syllable first and last name

  • I don't think so, if the names are right, it sounds very peppy and up beat.

  • Sometimes!  Think James Bond.
  • It can either work or be a disaster IMO. It really depends on the names, I'm unclear if it would work in your case.
  • depending on the names, i think it sounds fine.
  • i think it would be fine. i guess it just depends on how it sounds to you when you say just first and last name together.

  • I think it could definitely sound good.  DH name is one syllable first and last although his full first name is two syllables but never goes by it.  In fact, so is FIL's name and it hasn't ever sounded odd to me.  Now, it does bother me that both the first and last name are so common for DH and FIL that is why we went with a much more unique name for DS.

In the end go with your gut--you are the mama you know what is best :)
