Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Tell the truth: Do you ever laugh at LO when they're crying?

Is that just awful that sometimes I do?  I'm referring to when I know she's fine.  Of course I hate to hear her cry... and I don't believe in CIO. But...

My DD has colic, so she SCREEAAMMMSSS in the car seat. Sometimes DH just have to laugh cuz she sounds so pathetic. lol

Please tell me I'm not the only one.

  • OMG I have wanted to ask this for awhile. I tend to laugh at DS when I'm changing his diaper. He just hates it and his little bottom lip trembles and his cry sounds like a goat. LOL! I can't help but giggle and tell him "Yes I know, you have the worst mommy in the world. What kind of mommy would want you to have a clean butt?"

I know, right?  I tell DD that she's a drama queen. lol

I tell DD the exact same thing!

  • Sometimes my son makes this little sad face right before he's about to cry. It made me feel so sad for him the first time I saw it. Now it makes me giggle.

  • YES! Sometimes it's just so pathetic, and you know nothing is really wrong, so you can't help but laugh. Especially when the chin starts quivering!

  • DH and I laugh with the pout face before a big cry and LO 's bottom lip / jaw quivers sometimes when he is crying - it is so cute!!!

I actually pulled out the video recorder so I will always have it

  • Whenever DS does the really pitiful fake cry in which he stop, glances around to see whos looking and wails again, I laugh right out loud. Poor guy..

  • Yes.  She has a pitiful cry that is really funny.  I agree that sometimes if you know they aren't in pain or hungry or in any need, just crying to cry, you have to laugh to keep from going insane.

  • Not my daughter-she isn't much of a crier, but my son makes me laugh all the time. The things he tantrums about are hilarious.
  • I giggle when my kid cries and it's his own fault, like if he hits himself in the face.

  • I love the pre-cry face! Sometimes she'll stop and smile when I laugh at her. DS is 4 and I laugh at him crying all the time.
  • I do. When we feed DS he tends to get formula everywhere, so I take the bottle out and wipe his face... he FLIPS! I think its hysterical... I'm like dude... I'm gonna give it back! LOL
  • His sad face is cute, but no I haven't laughed.  I still fall into the category that seeing him upset breaks my heart.  I'm lucky because my little guy can be super super fussy but he's not a crier and he's pretty easy to calm when he does cry.  I can imagine a different response if he cried more maybe.

  • I don't laugh AT him, like "haha - stupid baby!". But yes, sometimes we just laugh at how dramatic he's being. How else do you keep your sanity?

  • Yes - especially when it's the delayed cry, and it's totally pitiful :(  DS is 16 mos and afraid of the paper shredder.  Whenever it's used, no matter where in the house he is he screams the most pitiful cry.  The lip quivers and everything...
