I think they went a little overboard on that one. Couldn't they get the same message across with a picture of a clothed pregnant woman? I'm not sure why she has to be so...nekkid...

Hang on, the godless crunchy weirdo has to chime in.
I don't think it's inappropriate. If a kid were to see that, I would hope the parents could say "Yes, little one, that is what a pregnant lady looks like. Those are her breasts and there is the baby in her belly" without getting all "ZOMG, poooooooorrrrnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!! My child's eyes!!!!!!!!!!"
I dunno. It's a fairly dry, un-titillating picture of the naked female form during pregnancy. And all you see are bewbies. It's not like they're showing a video of how to make bebes Jenna Jameson style.
Eh, I just don't see what it has to do with pregnancy. The article isn't about breastfeeding. It's about pregnancy. They could easily show her fully clothed (or just a bare belly shot without the boobs).
I just don't think children should have access to nude images whenever they want. If a parent wants to show it to them and teach them about the human body, that's their prerogative (or so says Bobby Brown), but it shouldn't just be out there for kids to stumble upon.
It's revealing, but not TOO revealing, I think. Then again, if I had a kid looking at it I might feel differently. But were there a bazillion other, better photos they could have chosen? Oh yeah.

I agree. Call me a liberal hippie, but an unsexual pose of the human body doesn't offend me.

I think that, in a perfect world, this WOULD be the case. And I totally want to raise my kid(s) in such a way as to know that they won't be all freaked out and disturbed by an image of the female form. My older sis won't let her 13-year-old son unscrew his own soda bottle, let alone do anything on the internet that isn't, like, on a Disney website. I know that my personal parenting style will be...shall we say...different.
But but but, I do agree that there are probably far better images to use, and the reality is that a lot of kids are raised like my nephew is being raised. Needless to say, these kids are going to have some serious coping issues when they reach middle school and beyond and, instead of parents talking to them about these things, the burly 19-year-old dropout with a mullet, ciggies, and Playboys will.
