TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

AF question

here's my question: has AF changed a lot for you since your loss(es)?

here's my history: AF was always irregular, heavy and long. like 7 days of HEAVY bleeding, rarely any spotting. so i was on BCP for about 6 months. the only things that changed was it was regular and maybe only 5 days of HEAVY bleeding.

enter m/c 1: missed m/c at 9 weeks. there was one day of spotting. then a day of heavy bleeding and cramps. day of medium bleeding. 3 days of spotting. the end.

that was when AF decided to take a hiatus. no AF for 60+ days. was a regular 4ish day AF. next AF 99 days later, regular again. then i do three months of prometrium induced AFs. from what i can remember, these were all 3-4 day AF visits. then i did the clomid round, pom juice and all! and voila BFP!

enter m/c 2: literally one day of spotting/light bleeding. that was it. that was all i ever had.

cue this week, first AF post m/c 2: one day of light, one day of medium, one day of light and now nothing. i'm so confused.

is this bad? does this mean my lining isn't good/thick enough? i'm just so confused as how my (totally effed up body) could change so drastically. anyone else have this issue or any advice? thanks! :)

Re: AF question

  • It sounds like since your first loss you've had (with or without prometrium) 3-4 day periods.  I think if they are consistent, you shouldn't worry.I have not noticed any issues with AF changing, but considering what our bodies go through with a miscarriage, I would not be surprised to notice some changes.

Heck, I had obvious O pain after my first m/c and now after the 2nd, nothing.  I think sometimes some 'reset' buttons get hit and other times, they don't.  Sorry, I wasn't much help.

  • My first 2 cycles after I lost the twins were pretty light, the 3rd was heavier then ever. After that they became lighter then my periods before the pregnancy and were much shorter. Whenever I went for lining checks at the RE before I started any meds my lining was always fine.
