I'm pretty sure my kiddos are trying to throw me a shower. They try to keep secrets but are not very secretive about it
Any who I want to add a bunch of things to my registry that HS kiddos can/would be able to afford. I hardly think many are going to get me a car seat base. ;-) I'm wanting to add things around $10-$15.
I was thinking books. I'm not really sure if we are going the paci route yet or not so I don't want to put too many of those. I already have a bunch of bibs and blankets. Any thing else you could suggest?
Re: Favorite baby books & other lower price items to add to registry?
I had the same thoughts, as I work with students too. I knew they'd have small budgets & they wanted to plan a shower for me so I made sure to add a good amount of lower priced items.
They still ended up getting cute outfits, socks, etc. for the most part but some of these items showed up as well.
Here are some of the lower priced ($2 to $10) items I added to my registry:
Bumbo tray
Boppy slipcover
Pacifier clips
Dishwasher basket
Bottle brushes
Washcloths
Baby medicine - Tylenol drops, Orajel, Little Noses, Mylicon, etc.
A "fold & go" diaper kit/changing pad
Wipes
Crib sheets
Changing pad covers
Spoons
Snack catcher
Pacifiers
As for books:
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Pat the Bunny
Goodnight Moon
Guess How Much I Love You
Thanks!
I just added a bunch of socks and lower price toys/books. This list helps a lot as well!
Books are great that is what I had asked my mom to splurge on instead of clothes: Good morning, Good Night, any Nursery Rhyme book, Golden Book Classics
Take advantage of older infant/ toddler items too. Other things you will need and can't have to many of are spoons, sippy cups, plates, bowls, snack containers, teethers, bath toys.
You've gotten some great suggestions. I agree on the older baby things too - some of the safety stuff isn't too expensive - door/toilet locks, bumpers for sharp edges, outlet plugs, etc.
In terms of books, some I like are:
bath toys are a great idea. soaps, shampoos, lotions are also good and easy for a few girls to get together and make a gift basket out of it.
also, since you are a dance teacher, throw in all the bows, tights, and cute diaper covers you can find

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. Board book.

there's a mirror at the end that she loved to look in.
I'm at Target and BRU. I just added most of these things y'all suggested to Target as the kiddos can go there. They'd have to drive to BRU or order online. I don't think that'll happen ;-)
My mom bought C this book and for the first month I couldn't read it. It made me all out sob. And I'm so not the type to cry.
I love the book I love you, little one. The key is to find short books. :-)
