teen preggers?

any other teen's on here that are in their first/second trimester? share your pregnancy stories - how did your parents take it, did you mean to get pregnant? i'd love for you to share your stories! btw, i'm 18..my mom took it wonderfully, dad not so much. pregnant by my boyfriend of 5 1/2 years. we were engaged prior to finding out about the pregnancy, plan to move the wedding to 2013 so that we have time to get settled down. i'm in my first trimester - 5 weeks pregnant. didn't mean to get pregnant, but we aren't frowning upon it. this is our baby and we're very happy about it. planned to have children anyway, so why not now :) share your stories!

  • Preggers, prego, and any other way to say PREGNANT is not cute, by the way. If you want to be taken seriously here on thebump and not sound immature, talk like an adult. Oh, and for the future if you talk about sex here too it's called sex... not "sexy time", "boom boom", or anything else. Just a heads up. Most importantly, LURK before you post.
But congrats and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and baby!

  • From what I've gathered from this site, most of the women on here are married and have been planning children. You might try another site for "teen preggers"
  • www.cafemom.com is another site that has a bunch on pregnant teens. I don't know that you will find many teens currently pregnant on here.
  • Congratulations! I'm sure you will enjoy the bump and find other people on here to share this journey with - whether they are teen or not.

Try to take the "message board rule police" with a grain of salt and just enjoy the boards without worrying too much about all that crap. Enjoy being preggers!!!

  • Congratulations!  You can call being pregnant whatever you want. : )

I know a lot of former teen moms who are wonderful mothers and were still able to go to school and get good jobs, etc.  You can do it, too.  It's great that you have the support of you families!

  • Go to whatever site you want to be on. Thebump.com, cafemom.com, babycenter.com any of them. It's your choice. They are all open and free and a good resource of info. If you have a question it is good to lurk around to see if see if someone else has posted yet. SOme questions get answered a lot and we all get a little impatient with the same one all the time.
  • I'd just seen some other mom's call it names other than pregnant, that's the only thing that made me sound "immature." My post was not immature in anyway, it's not like I type "lyke dis." I don't plan on talking about sex on here, haha. But thanks for the FYI. Thank you! I hope I do too, I'm trying my best :)

Honestly, I don't want a site that has a ton of pregnant teens on it. I was simply just wondering if there were any other teens who are currently pregnant, or mothers who had their children in their teens. Which it turns out there are. I would like to be able to post on a forum where the mothers are experienced and not all first-time teen mothers, like myself. I know that I do not know everything about pregnancy - no one does - and that I will have several questions over the course of the next nine months. I would rather ask experienced mom's and women who are trying to conceive because they will know a lot more than teens. Thank you! :)

Preggers and inappropriate apostrophe use aside, you seem like you have more brain than the average teen pregger.

    Best of luck to you.

Honestly, I don't think asking people on the internet for information on pregnancy is the best idea. A lot of the women on here are also first time moms. I would really recommend getting a book or two and asking your doctor a lot of questions. That is much more reliable information. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. Every doctor has a different style. There's going to be a lot of conflicting information thrown around.

I've already gotten "What to Expect When You're Expecting," any other book suggestions? Scheduled my first doctor's appointment but that isn't until October. Thinking that's kind of late, I may try to go to another OB/GYN. The conflicting information is getting me so confused/worried. Some people say that everything in the first few weeks (prior to knowing I was pregnant) affected the baby in major ways and some people say that there's nothing to worry about and that it didn't affect the baby at all. Who knows, I guess the only time I'll know for sure is at delivery.

  • I personally don't like WTEWYE.  I think the book focuses way too much on what can go wrong and it makes me paranoid.  I really like the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy.  It's informative and well organized.

    Congratulations!!

  • OP - I liked 'Your Pregnancy Week By Week' and 'The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy'.

I think it's smart you want to be on a board with women who have been through this before, but I still reserve the right to ::sideeye:: you if you continue to use the word 'preggers'.

there are still quite a few bumpies on here that are PG not because they planned it. TMs1st has 2 children that are "oops" babies. She loves them like no other, but there were not planned. An unplanned pregnancy does not make you unfit and it really annoys me that just because the majority of us on here planned our children and are older it means that we are better equiped to handle it. 20 and 30somethings ask just as dumb questions as you say the teens moms do.

Aly welcome aboard. I was almost a teen mom, choose a different path since I knew that I was not ready for that step yet.

  • Hello and congrats! I could care less what you call pregnancy! It's all the same and you are NOT the first to call it something else. As far as the rude bully comments (kelsoxoxo) ignore them! Her comment was just rude. Good luck!

Woah, can you say, "mean!?!" Leave the poor girl alone. You are the one that sounds immature, not her. Get a life and stop attacking people who didn't do anything wrong.

Insitigators and rude, crazy people just suck!
