Hi. My name is Leslie and I'm just under 9 weeks pregnant. This is my second pregnancy. When I woke up this morning I felt a big gush of wetness and when I looked, it was all red, red blood. It was a lot but stopped after 5 min. I still do not have any cramping at all. I called my doctor and I'm going in this morning at 9 to check if the baby is ok. I'm so scared it's not.
Has anyone had a miscarriage that started out like this? Or a similar experience the ending up being ok? I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst and know that miscarriages happen when the baby isn't developing properly. I just want to know what is going on NOW.
I would appreciate anything you can share....good or bad.
Leslie
Re: Gush of blood at 9 weeks? :(
I hope everything turns out okay, but I'm not sure you should have posted that on Miscarriage/Loss board.
My friend had a very similar experience (she used the word "gush" too). She has a healthy, happy 14 year old from that pregnancy.
Wishing you all the best.
Please delete your post over on the mc/pl board. Please.
As for the answer to your question, I've never had a good outcome with gushes/bleeding of any kind. With my first m/c there was a lot of blood. With the second, just some spotting at 11 weeks that sent me to the doctor where I fould out the baby had stopped developing at 6 weeks.

It's deleted. The first 2 times I tried I didn't supply a reason as to why I was deleting and it which I guess you need. Sorry for offending anyone.
We all make mistakes, thank you for taking it down. Keep us posted on what happens with the doctor.

That's exactly how my miscarriage started unfortunately, but it could be anything! I was just over 9 weeks. Luckily for you the bleeding stopped. Don't stress out, just take it easy and rest.
I hope everything is okay
Hello,
I just wanted to tell you that your in my thoughts and prayers...it's not a MC until your doctor tells you whats going on.
And for other posters to make that assumption and to tell her to post elsewhere is downright rude...she posted on this board b/c she is still in her first trimester...give her a break ladies!! She needs our support!
ETA: Never mind, thank you for DD.
Unfortunatly, it could be a number of things at this point. I hope your doctor can determine what is going on and that it's only a momentary scare .
Obviously you are the one who needs to go back and re read what we said. We did not tell her to post elsewhere. She had gone over to Miscarriage and Loss and reposted there which should not be done. Obviously none of them had good outcomes to her situation. Thank you to the OP for deleting it and I hope your appointment goes well.
The lack of cramping is a good sign.
With my last pregnancy I had a similar HUGE gush of bright red blood at about 7 weeks. No cramping - just lots of blood. Went to the ER and both babies (I was pregnant with twins at the time) were fine. Strong heartbeats, measuring perfectly.
It was a subchorionic hematoma. I did go on to unfortunately lose one of the twins (at 10 weeks) but my daughter is a thriving happy 13 month old.
Good luck!
Reading comprehension: FAIL.
Thank you for deleting this from the M/PL board.
I had a ton of bleeding early on with this pregnancy. It turned out to be a subchorionic hematoma. So far everything is fine. Hopefully things will turn out well for you.
