I'm a little behind in the solids game, since this is going to be our only child and I don't want to give up the baby stuff so soon. So here's my question:

    We only do finger/ hand-held foods.  Ophelia is no where near being able to load a spoon and feed herself.  She can put a filled spoon into her mouth.  She knows exactly what she's supposed to do with it but doesn't get the part where the food gets onto the spoon to begin with Stick out tongue

    I put a little bit of cereal or baby food on a spoon and Leighton can feed herself.  I don't do it all the time, but occasionally, just so she can practice

    I used to babysit an 18 month old who was just starting to get the hang of feeding herself with a spoon.
