happens to me every day I wake up and they are normal, by the end of the day no ankles and my toes are huge. been happening for weeks now I just laugh cause there is not much more I can do about it. If you put them up swelling will go down
If it's just one ankle please make sure that by tomorrow it's back to normal. Not to freak you out, but I've heard horror stories of people getting blood clots and the way they knew was because one leg/ankle was swollen and the other was not and it's painful I believe.
Technically, cold is better than warm, however I find that the warm water relaxes me, and my feet end up not being as swollen in the morning. The combo of the foot rub, warm water, and putting my feet up is what makes the swollen feet and cankles bearable...
prop them up and try to go easy on the salt. It happened to me last weekend I was wearing flip flops and I stood up and my feet were hurting. It was like looking down at little vienna sausage toes. Tragic.
yeah it's just one ankle and it feels a little numb... i'll call the doc in the AM if it hasn't gone down. I am chuuuugging water, elevating my feet and using a cold compress. Thanks, Ladies.

Also, if it gets bad you can buy a (dorky) support stocking to wear that really helps minimize the swelling. Go to a medical supply type store to find one.

Re: one ankle's all swollen
The right one. You are giving me hope that it'll go down tomorrow, thanks. I'm a little hysterical over this right now. It's been a bad day anyway.

It's probably nothing, but blood clots freak me out!
