pain?

I'm sitting at work and having a hard time breathing. I all of a sudden got this sharp pain in between my shoulder blades and the pain is shooting through the front to my chest and under my breast? Any idea.?? I know its not heart burn but the pain hurts so bad I'm starting to actually tear up? Help

Re: pain?

  • Did you hurt your back or something or sleep funny on your neck?

  • Yikes.....that doesn't sound good at all. If it's not heartburn the only other things that comes to my mind is either a panic attack or heart attack. Please don't let this go on for too long without seeking a more qualified medical opinion than mine.

  • hmmmmmmm, I'm baffled. Maybe you have been sitting too long and need some stretches or something. I'm at a loss. Hope you feel better! keep us posted. Kinda scary.
  • I'd call the doc.  I get sharp pains in my back between my shoulder blades but it is because I have shoulder problems.  I have also gotten the sharp pains in the boob/just under the boob area, I know those are normal but they go away after about 30secs.
  • I am 99% sure it's gas.  Sounds weird in the position that it is in, but I had the exact same pain, and that is what it was.

  • I had the same thing happen while on vacation last week.  I went to the ER right away.  My BP was really high, but all tests came back fine.  It was probably an anxiety attack.  I would go get checked out or at least call your doc just in case though.
  • does your upper abdomen hurt? pain in your back between the shoulders, and also in the front, can be gallstones.

I sceond... gas can press on your sciatic nerve and make it feel like a heart attack. Call your doc if it continues, but if your left arm isn't in pain, then it's probably not a heart attack.

  • Thank you so much ladies for all the advice. It finally went away about an hour after I posted. It was the strangest thing. I have a call in to my doc to make sure it "normal". I would pri go with gas.. I no longer have a gall bladder so no gal stones and I use to have anxiety attacks all the time and that was not one. So Gas is my answer lol and thank you again!
