Trying to Get Pregnant

Crafty Ladies, Come In

Hi there! I know there are some crafty (as in crocheters, knitters, scrapbookers, etc) ladies on here and was just wondering what you all are making lately?

I am making a shower gift for my friend who is having a baby.

It will, eventually, be a blanket and hat combo.

So, what you you making? PIP if you want! :)

Re: Crafty Ladies, Come In

  • I'm not overly crafty, but my project right now is that I'm sanding and staining a console table. We bought a new dining set that is dark wood, and the table is/was light oak. I'm staining it an espresso color...hoping it turns out!

  • I am working on scrapbooking and organizing all of my grandmothers photos. A great project but it is very time consuming! Project is currently on hold for a few weeks as we have just moved but I am looking forward to giving it to her at Thanksgiving time.

  • So cute!

I don't have anything currently in the works, but I keep meaning to start something. I have a whole binder of things I want to try. You're inspiring me to break it out and pick something!

I tell myself every year that I'm going to make Christmas gifts for everyone and never start early enough to make that happen.

    Off to look for crafts!

Good luck with it! I would love to restain our coffee table sometime soon...it's looking at little old lately.

  • I am trying to get my rear in gear and finish a first year baby album for my friends daughter (whose birthday was Tuesday.  Whoops).  I am also going to start refinishing a dresser that's living in our garage.  Waiting for the weather to cool down a little so I don't have to work in the sweltering garage in the evenings.

Conn I made these for almost everyone I knew last year for Christmas and got rave reviews.  They were fairly inexpensive and super easy to make.  https://www.beneathmyheart.net/2009/11/cute-inexpensive-and-easy-christmas/.  ETA:  I used scrapbook paper instead of the napkins because I read that they were easier to work with.

  • We just did this tonight, but I decorated my DD's pencil box and scissors for school.  (Someone kept taking her box and scissors last year, so I'm hoping this stops that).  Tomorrow I'm making some curtains for our living room. *fingers crossed*

PS sorry for the crappy photo, I used my phone.

ETA: You can't see it, but I wrapped ribbon around the sides and tied a bow :)

Good luck! I can relate regarding the heat! Having yarn draped over you in this weather isn't all that comfortable. :)

Thanks! I really struggled to come up with an idea, but I love crafty stuff.  I need to think of some ideas for my duckie bathroom.  I have nothing in there!

  • Last month I finished this baby quilt for my newest niece -

    This is awesome! :)

  • thanks!  I would love to learn how to knit, I admire your skill.
  • That is beautiful! My mom made me a quilt  when I left for college and it means the world to me. I wish I had the patience to quilt...

  • I just finished scrapbooking pictures from our summer vacation (driving from Seattle to San Francisco). My next project will be scrapbooking our wedding but it is such a daunting project and I keep putting it off. I'm also thinking of redecorating the dining room but I need my dad to fix the chandelier first...

  • I'm making a brown, and blue mix blanket.. its freaking huge and will probably take me 20 years to finish.
  • Trying to catch up on my scrap booking. I'm doing some pages digital and others the old fashioned way.

How do you do your pages digital? Is there a program you use? I tried doing a few but they really stood out in my book next to the "traditional" pages (and not in a good way)...

Awesome! I love brown and blue! they were my wedding colors.

  • That quilt is gorgeous!!!

I'm working on putting all my dad's family pictures in a scrapbook.  It was his birthday present, but that was in July, so it's looking like it might be from Santa now!

  • baby quilt in the process for my sis.  Baby GiGi is due in Dec!  (kill me now) Stick out tongue

  • That's really pretty :) I'm currently crocheting a blanket, knitting a sweater, and knitting another blanket. I usually tend to have 3 or 4 things on the go, so I switch when I get bored. Takes forever to make anything, but it's fun anyway. One of the blankets I'm crocheting is going to be really nice, but it's huge, and I've been too lazy to count all the stitches (it's 300 across!!), so I think I've mucked it up, and might consider ripping it out this weekend and starting over, and counting like I should! (I also estimated the 300 stitches wrong, because for one part, I had to improvise a little more than I would have liked). Guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.... :)
  • I'm mainly working on stuff for myself right now, since for a long time I only made gifts. I'm a knitter, and I have one sock of a pair finished, and I have about 1 and a half slippers finished. I don't know why I started the slippers when I hadn't finished the socks. Anyway, I should be able to finish the slippers soon - they're made out of super dooper chunky yarn so it shouldn't take too long.

I pulled out my sewing machine a few weeks ago and made a dress. It was a little messy (my first sewing project since I was 14) but it was wearable! So that was inspiring, and I might make some more clothes soon.
