birth certificate help please!!:)

hi,

how long does it take to get birth certificate info after the baby is born?  my daughter was born in robert wood in may and i never received anything....do i have to initiate it?  when i had my son in jfk i got a form sent to me and i just filled it out and the birth certificate came in the mail and it was very easy.  any help or guidance would be appreciated!!

    I don't remember the timeframe, but when my son was born I received instructions from the hospital (St. Clare's in Denville) on how to send the money order to the township of Denville for the birth certificate. 

    I guess you need to contact the municipality where the hospital is in or call the hospital to verify that's how you need to get the birth certificate.

    My daughter was born in Morristown and we just went to the town hall and picked it up ourselves.  We received the info from the hospital on where we needed to go and how much it was going to cost us.

    My son was born at RWJ in Hamilton and we had to go to the Hamilton Township office to pick up the birth certificate.  You can call the hospital to see how they do it.  If you do have to go and pick it up, call first.  It took 4 weeks for ours to be read for pick up.
