NBR: Rosacea?

I have it and I don't know what to use on my face.  I was using a cleanser and moisturizer from Estee Lauder for the last year or so but it doesn't seem to be working very well anymore and my skin is super dry.  Anyone else have this and if so what do you use?

Re: NBR: Rosacea?

  • My dad has rosacea and my MIL prescribed a cream.  I think it's called Finacea and it's helped a lot!

  • At Coldwater Creek Spa in Pembroke Gardens they have a skin care line called Image and I use the Vital C line. It was expensive but really helps me. They also sell a little travel kit with the whole line in trial sizes for not that much money and you can try it for minimal cost and see if it works for you.

I've never been there.  I live like 10 minutes away from it and walk by all the time, I'll have to stop in!

  • I was diagnosed with Rosacea about 10 years ago up north.  I used to use MetroGel (Rx) on my face daily, along with my regular Oil of Olay daily moisturizer.  I had stopped using any sort of soap or cleanser on my face on my DH's recommendation, and I used only a wet washcloth or loofah.  But when I moved here to Florida, my rosacea seemed to have stopped, with rare occasions where I notice anything.  I still don't use soaps or cleansers on my face, and I still use Oil of Olay moisturizer.  My NJ dermatologist also said Lubriderm and Cetaphil (cleanser and moisturizer) were okay to use and told me not to spend any extra money on anything outside the CVS, that it wasn't worth it.

  • I have it too :( I used to use Metrogel, Finacea, Oracea (a pill - doxycycline)...laser, etc. (tried them all since I work in derm)...come in to the office! I can also get you samples of Finacea or metrogel to try if you want.
