3rd Trimester

34 weeks and in pain.

For the past few days, I've been having the most uncomfortable, achy feeling in my pelvic region. At my dr. appt. 2 weeks ago, my dr. said that around 33-34 weeks, my pelvic bone would start splitting to make room for the baby? I don't know if that's what I've been experiencing or not. It also hurts where you would normally have RLP (the sides of the lower belly). This morning, I woke up with the worst back ache too. DH and I went to BRU and USA Baby, and after that the back pain and pelvic pain were just horrible. I felt so crappy... definitely the worst I have felt this pregnancy. I have a dr. appt. this Thursday so of course, I'll talk to her then but until then, is any of this reason for concern? I guess b/c it's new pain to me, I'm worried about the baby being ok and I just don't know what's going on! I'm hoping it's all normal.

  • If you aren't sure, and it is making you nervous...call your Dr.  Better to call them with nothing than have to deal with something major later.

  • It doesn't sound too out of the ordinary, it just sucks that you're having all of the different pains at once. But the back ache, RLP, and pelvic pain are all totally normal pregnancy symptoms. For me, the pelvic pain is the worst- I feel like I got kicked in the groin!
  • I started getting pelvic pain around 34w, but usually only at night when I get up or sit down and I would never call it severe. Backpain is a new one for me, but that is also mild. I see women post all the time about pelvic and back pain, though. If I was in severe pain, I would call my OB because it would be something out of the ordinary in my case. Good luck and I hope you feel better :(

  • I have the same thing.  Dr. said it was the pubic bone stretching and to take Tylenol.
  • We're due on the same day and I have the exact same pain. I experienced the same pain with my son and the doctor told me it was pubic bones stretching to make room for the baby. I've noticed it hurts worse when I sit all day at work and when I walk..its takes me forever to get anywhere b/c the whole time I walk I'm in pain (like another poster - feels like I've been kicked in the groin). So, I try to lay down when I get home as much as possible to avoid this pain. Good luck..sounds like we're having the same pains.
