Consignment shops worth shopping at?

I would love a list of consignment shops that are clean and worth shopping at. Willing to travel for a good store.

For baby/kid/maternity stuff, any of the Stellie Bellie's stores are great - they have locations on Fourth St. in St. Pete and in Palm Harbor, but the south St. Pete store is closing at the end of this month - they're relocating to Bradenton in the next few months. I love shopping there and have been to all of the stores. The Palm Harbor one is the biggest, but I think the Fourth St. store was the flagship.

Would you happen to know where in Bradenton they are moving to? I plan on going consignment shopping today and have only been able to find one children's consignment shop in Palmetto and it's brand new so I don't know how great it is. I would love to have another option in the near future.

I was at the south St. Pete location last weekend and asked if they knew where in Bradenton they'd be moving to, but they said they're still narrowing down what the best option would be in terms of location/price for them and hadn't made a final decision yet. If I hear anything I will post on the board - I'm eager to find out myself!

I went to Once Upon A Child and was not happy. I found the staff to be rude, and the store high priced and over crowed with a ton of junk. I love Stella but have only been to the 4th street store. Is that the one she is closing? I wonder why? Would love to find more? Thanks for posting the information!

No, they're closing the south St. Pete store - the 4th St. location will stay open. They're going to relocate the south St. Pete one to Bradenton, mostly because the two St. Pete stores overlap the same market, so this will help their business.

I will definately have to check it out! I have never really been big on consignment stores - probably because they are usually dirty. They do have a web site and it looks clean and orderly. Do they have overpriced consignment things or are they really reasonably priced for used items? Thanks!

It's not a store but there's a consignment event called "Just Between Friends" that is coming at the end of Sept/early Oct. I can't wait for it! I purchased a TON of high quality/name brand things for my kids and was able to make a good amount of money selling dd's old things, too.

ditto the JBF sales. great stuff. some things NWT even.

i do like once upon a child- i found the staff to be incredibly friendly and they have a vast selection. decent prices, although some clothes are in better shape than others. i go to the carrollwood location.

I've always found the prices to be decent at Stellie Bellies. Some of the baby gear (like bouncy seats, play mats, etc.) have seemed overpriced to me, but the clothes, books, blankets, etc. haven't been bad at all. They have really good sale stuff, too.

Is so BAD! OMG! It is dirty, smells and the owner has her kids and dog at the store. I would be okay with that if the store was clean, and didn't smell! Very overpriced, and nothing is in order in that store.

Once Upon A Child in Largo and on 60 in Tampa both have a great 1.00 sale going on. I stocked up on Gymboree, Ralph Lauren and Janine and Jack all for 1.00:)

you have to dig through the rack but you get a great deal so it's worth it:)

I know these are not a store but they are Consighment sale events. I have been to both and they always have a huge selction of things and for the right prices.

Another Time Around" is hosting its 13th semi-annual consignment sale this fall. Fall/Winter 2010 Sale will be Wednesday through Sunday, October 13-17, 2010. at the Largo Cultural Center.

Early Bird Pre-sale will be Thursday night 8:30pm-10:00pm and requires a $5.00 Admission.

The sale is open to the public (free of charge) on Friday 3:30pm-10:00pm and Saturday 11:00am - 4:00pm.

50% off sale will be all day Sunday from 12:00pm - 3:00pm
