I remember you posting that you didn't use the LATCH system because the manual said not to use it if it was a certain amount of space between the latches. Was that your car manual or the Chicco Keyfit manual? I have searched and searched through the Chicco manual and can't find anything. I need to move the base from my company car to my car tomorrow and the latches are pretty far apart. Do you remember the spacing limitations?

     Your car manual should tell you. 

    Our car manual said to only use the latches if you put the seat on the sides. 

    We put the base in the center using the seat belt and still attahced the latches.  I know that is not what you should do but it makes me feel better.  As long as you get the belt tight I don't see why it should matter if you want to attach the latches also.   I think they advise not to do both becasue they think people will not attach the belt tightly.  Just my opinion.

    Ditto - it was in the car.  I think it was that they have to be fit for 30" and the Chicco was like 11 or 15.
