Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this.

Re: Pregnancy and bathing suits

  • I think if you're a fit pregnant lady you can be ok. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't think it is gross on the right people. But, personally, I thought I was fit and just couldn't do it. I felt very exposed. And I normally wear a bikini.

  • I don't see the big deal. I didnt do it though because I was enormous.

  • I think that some pregnant women look really cute in 2 piece bathing suits. I personally think that whether or not a woman looks cute if she has the confidence to wear one then good for her.  I personally was also huuuuge so that was not happening. lol

  • Nay for me personally, but doesn't bother me for others.

  • I would have worn one but I also wasn't that big.

I think they are fine on some but not on others, i guess the same goes not pg too :)

  • I think if you can rock a bikini before you are PG, you can certainly do it while you are PG.

I, personally, have not worn a bikini since I was about 10 though. .. . so this did not affect me.

  • I know I could never pull it off, but if a person wants to wear one, I  won't give them the evil eye.

  • I've worn one so far, and I feel good mostly. I get compliments, but sometimes I still feel huge-normous in it. Mostly it was because I already had a ton of bikinis, and didn't want to buy a maternity swimsuit since I couldn't find a cheap one I liked. So I just decided to rock the ones that fit me. DH and I did have a laugh when I "modeled" my one and only one-piece for him, one with a skinny strip down the stomach connecting a top and bottom, he said I looked like I was polishing a bowling ball with one of those towels. LOL.
  • I am currently 8 months pregnant and still rocking my bikini and rocking it proud. I chose mostly to wear it primarily to save money and to not have to buy a new bathing suit, so I just wore some of my larger ones that still fit. I'm also a young mama-to-be so it's also a matter of fitting in (sadly) with my non-pregnant friends. And, the less clothes I have to deal with the better at this point.

And actually, most places I've been I've received a lot of compliments and comments from mom saying how happy they were that I was showing it off and not hiding it. But, its definitely a matter of what makes you feel comfortable.

  • I agree, if you are fit, then ok.

  • It doesn't bother me if someone has the confidence to wear a bikini while pg. I have worn a bikini while pg but once my stomach sticks out past my boobs, I go to the tankini. Also, I mostly go swimming at my ILs so I'm just grossing out family, not a bunch of strangers. Stick out tongue

  • I wore one up until my 7th month then school let out and the pools are just a little crazy for me but if i went back to the beach one last time I would def rock a bikini...no reason to go out and buy a 40 dollar maternity suit for my last month...
  • I think if your belly looks good (no stretch marks, etc.) then go for it.

  • Yay, but not for me.  My belly was way too pale.  Otherwise, I would be rockin' one!
