December 2010 Moms

will you ever get sick of feeling LO move?

I just LOVE feeling my little man kicking!  it is seriously just amazing, but I'm sure we all know that.  anyway, everyone keeps saying that as the pregnancy progresses I'll get sick of it.. and that eventually it will hurt!?  for any second time moms, did you find this to be true?  or have any first time moms heard this, too?  I can imagine it might not be so adorable when he weighs over 6 pounds and is keeping me up at night, but I just can't imagine feeling it and thinking anything other than how awesome it is!  I'll probably be eating my words in a few months Embarrassed

Re: will you ever get sick of feeling LO move?

  • I personally never got tired of feeling DD move around in there!  Though, when I first felt it I thought it was really weird.  Once I got used to it, I loved it!  I even missed it when she was out.

Sometimes it would hurt a little bit, but most of the time it was just fun to watch.  When she got bigger she would stick her foot out so far you could almost grab it, DH loved that, he'd tease her by grabbing it.

  • Aww, I dont think I will ever get sick of feeling my LO move. I actually think I will miss being pregnant and feeling him move around.

  • I usually love it, but he tends to kick the same spot a ton... just above and inside my hip.  It doesn't hurt today, but there have been several days that he's kicked there so much my muscle begins to feel pulled.
  • I've heard lots of women complain about the kicks in the ribs but my DD never went near mine. I never got tired of DD's kicks, but I got reallllly tired of her getting hiccups every night in my crotch as soon as my head would hit the pillow. It was really annoying.

  • I'm just now feeling her movements a little bit stronger (thanks, anterior placenta), so every time I feel her I get all excited!

I can't wait to see/feel her from the outside! :)) I don't think I will get sick of it. To me, it's the best indication that she's in there, doing well! I don't have to go to the OB to hear her h/b to know that she's living in there- if that makes any sense!

  • YES! I feel like it's his way of letting me know he's still in there doing okay. haha.  he ALWAYS kicks me in the same exact spot to the lower right of my belly button. at my U/S the tech told me that's where his feet were and I was not surprised :)  I guess he's in a comfortable position because he doesn't seem to have moved.

  • I thought it was great the whole time.  At times it is a little shocking, but never did I think it hurt so much that I wouldn't want to do it again.  It's pretty neat!

  • im still only feeling flutters and i looooove feeling them everyday!  im not sure how ill feel about actual kicks but i guess ill find out!
  • I only didn't like it at the very end sometimes... DS was 9lb 11oz- a very big baby for my little self!

The punches and kicks were always neat, but it actually made me nauseous when he'd roll over! And once he punched or kicked so hard when I was laying in bed that it actually made a "thump" on the mattress... OUCH!

  • I don't think I could ever get sick of it. Everytime Mason starts kicking I just set my hand on my abdomen and enjoy the show. Although, when I am about to pop I am sure it might get annoying when I am trying to sleep!

  • I don't think so! He was having a party in there last night and I was just watching him kick/punch all over my belly. I'd tell DH to watch the right side, then he'd be over on the left. It's fun though I do agree with DH that sometimes it seems as if there's an alien trying to get out, haha.

It was awkward last night when I was trying to sleep because he was low and the way he was kicking felt like gas bubble and I kept feeling like I had to pass gas, lol. Embarrassed

  • I used to get tired of it with DS at night, right around 28-30 weeks or so when he was really active and I could feel him flipping up and down. Not fun when you are trying to sleep. Luckily I am not there yet this time.

  • She wakes me up almost every morning between 2-3 because I can feel her moving. But now she's big enough that I can actually find her and if I push she'll kick lol. I felt her near my rib yesterday afternoon which I though was odd but...but like PP said as I feel her it lets me know that she's doing ok with out having to see her or hear her HB.
  • I got tired of it towards the end with DS because he would move ALL day long, and yes, it ended up hurting as a result...but luckily DS let me sleep at night :-)

The only time I've become tired of this LO moving was last night because I was having some serious dairy allergies going on and the last thing I needed was the LO moving around too to make everything hurt even more!!!

I love feeling LO move (and DS when preg)...I have to say, this LO has actually kicked my dinner plate a few times when we sit on the sofa to eat...it is hilarious every time!

  • I'm not sick of it yet but it has already made sleeping really difficult.  Every time I turn on my side he will kick me like crazy before settling down.  I can't sleep on my right side at all (I know I'm not supposed to anyway, but I am a tosser in bed) because he will kick non-stop- I don't know why he hates it so much but he does it EVERY single time.

I LOVE feeling his first kicks in the morning though, I don't think I could ever get sick of that!
