No, not a BFP.
We just put an offer in on a house in my absolute favorite neighborhood in the entire city....at the top of our budget. Did I mention we haven't listed our house yet?
Excited....scared....nervous...& thinking we could be losing our minds!
Re: :::Shaking:::
OMG! I hope you get it and are able to sell quickly!
How exciting!
Thanks! I'm usually not this cocky about things, but I know our house will sell quickly. It's in a great area & at a starter home price for this region (180K)....& we've totally redone the yard, fence, kitchen, bath, paint, molding, blah, blah, blah.
Eek, I'm kinda freaking out!
OK, I gotta be totally nosy! I went to college, grad school, and worked for about 6 years after grad school in KC. So, I have to ask what area you're moving from and to (PM, of course, since I'm sure you don't want to post publicly.) Oh, and congrats and good luck on a quick sell!!! Hoping we get a similar break in a few months on the other side of the state! :-)
I don't mind sharing...we're in Roeland Park right now & if this works out we'll be in Fairway. So all of about a mile from our current house!
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

Great area! I lived in a studio in west plaza for a couple years and then was in KCK northeast of Roeland Park just north of the Johnson/Wyandotte county line. I was just renting, but if I'd stayed in the area I probably would have tried to start out by buying in Roeland Park, too.
There have definitely been foreclosures, but not a ton. Housing is so affordable here compared to many cities that prices have stayed pretty level.....I think average home price probably falls somewhere around 200k.
We love it here! Of course I'm biased b/c I grew up here & went to KU for undergrad & UMKC for grad school.

That is extremely exciting. I used to be a real estate agent and I always try to tell anyone I know in your situation to relax, stay calm and remember that in real estate a deal isn't good until it's just about to fall apart. So many things can happen, go wrong and seem like the deal is not going to happen, but everything is negotiable and it all works out in the end.
Best of luck to you, that is an exciting adventure you are about to embark on.
