buying extended warranty @ BRU on breast pump

A lot of reviews I saw talking about Medela (and other brands) suggested that you buy the extended warranty on the breast pump from BRU because it gave you greater power if something went wrong. I'm a bit more cautious on these things and was planning on buying it (like I buy it on other higher use items like my laptop) but DH thinks its silly so we didn't buy it.

So have you had problems with your Medela Pump In Style Advanced breast pump (or similar pump in that price range like Ameda)? We just bought it today and I haven't opened it in part because my mom is determined she's going to win one at a baby fair next week. I'd definitely appreciate your 2 cents. Thanks!
