it's such a load of crap to listen to Oprah Winfrey criticize someone for wanting to "keep up with the Joneses." I agree with her on the concept, but it's a little hard to handle coming from a billionaire who lives in opulence.
love how much oprah has done for the children of the world, but I AGREE - she so flippantly fees free to lecture others bout money. its condescending coming from a katrillionaireeee
Totally true, but I'm glad Oprah addresses these topics. Even if it's condescending and a little ridiculous for Oprah to lecture people about money, they do listen to her...
Yes, I like the irony of her telling people not to try to keep up with others, and yet she has favorite things showe throughout the year basically telling people how them can live like her.
My mom and are watching it too. I said a similar thing....when the girl was talking about not being able to afford her car, etc. Oprah said, "Goodbye car." Yeah, Oprah gets driven to work in a limo and probably owns/employs a manicurist. It's hard to hear from Suze Orman too.
Funny, I thought the same thing myself as I was watching it.
I also have to say I was kind of annoyed that she "approved" that 25 year old to stay in Boston but she denied the mom the chance to stay at home with her kids. Why not suggest that she work or babysit to SAH? She was much better off financially than that other girl was with like $0 savings and a deficiet of $300 a month!
I think Oprah needs to bring in someone else to do these money shows. Her lectures on living within your means are crazy, considering the total expenses of ten average nesties would easily be within HER means.
