So I havent had a regular cycle in about a year. I think I have had 4 periods in 12 months. I took myself off BCP to see if that was messing me up, I went to the doctor, got blood work and it all came back as normal. They have said it could be stress related. I am on weight watchers trying to see if it will come back if I lose weight. Should I press this more with my doctor? Get a second opinion?

Re: Aunt Flow's a No Show...again
Were you tested for PCOS?
If you seriously concerned about it (not gonna lie, I would be, too!) then press it with your dr. It seems odd that they chalked it up to stress after you dealing with no periods for a year.

How long have you been off BCP? If you were missing periods on BCP, it's probably not be anything to be concerned about. Also, if you've only been off BCP for a couple months, this isn't out the ordinary.
If you have been off BCP for a while, then I might be concerned.
Perhaps you should try charting to get some insight into your cycle.
And if you're TTC, losing weight is generally a good idea (even just for the health of your growing child, gestational diabetes, and all of that).
I think I went off of birth control in January or February. I actually got periods in April and May and then nothing since then.
I know that my doctor was considering PCOS as a possible cause because of the questions she was asking about if i had facial hair or things like that. I thought that's what they looked into when they tested my hormone levels. Now I want to go back and ask for my blood test results again.

I definitely would. I have irregular periods and aside from that my only outward symptom is that I gain weight in my stomach (I am not over a normal BMI, but all of my body fat is in my stomach), I crave sugar a lot and am insulin resistant. PCOS is done through bloodwork for glucose levels and sometimes a glucose tolerance test, not through hormone testing.
All of this.
However, I was dx'ed with PCOS through a hormone test. I had elevated testosterone.
