We travel with our marathon a lot from CA to NY. Look at bags with wheels for it, they're about $30-$50 depending on which one you like. Also look into the travel mate from GoGoKidz. That's what we use now and LOVE.
I don't know about those specific car seats but I would definitely recommend using one for that long of a trip. More than likely it will be fine because even if it is a little too wide you can just put the arm rest up. That is what we did with DS's seat on our most recent trip and it worked.
I have flown with DD a lot. Almost 20 flights now including connections. I also have the Chicco Keyfit and I always take it on flights. Even though I use the Britax Marathon in my car sporadically.
My reasoning is that I like having the keyfit when I travel as a seat she is comfortable sitting even out of the car. DD falls asleep in the car 90% of the time and it's so much easier to let her sleep in the seat. We can feed her, rock her, etc in it. It's so easy to use even without the base. I have a snap n go, a Chicco marathon travel stroller and a baby jogger classoi also.
The more I use the Britax the more I love my Keyfit. It's much easier to adjust and DD seems more comfortable reclined. DD is 20 lbs now but long. I go back and forth between which is safer.
Today I actually contemplated installing both in the car and seeing which one I felt like using. I got upset because we went to the dry cleaner (5 min away) and the grocery store (3 min away) and she fell asleep. I had to wake her up to go into the grocery store because she was in the Britax and I felt so bad.
Thanks Ladies. After talking more with DH, it looks like we might just take the keyfit. We have the Keyfit 30 and he is only 20lbs (if that) right now.
We took our Britax Boulevard in June to travel from NY to LV. It was no problem. We got a bungee cord and attached the carseat to our rolling carry on bag to get it through the airport. We thought about taking the Chicco also, but he had been in the Britax for so long, we didn't want to chance him hating it, and screaming.
As for getting it installed... they let us board early because we had a baby... it took my husband maybe 1 minute to get the carseat in and secure. The only issue is if the person in front of the carseat wants to recline all the way.

Thanks, we were also thinking about the bungee cord and our roundabout, and we also just aren't sure about him hating the Chicco now, ah, decisions, decisions.
We took the Britax Roundabout on a coast-to-coast trip with our one year old, and LOVED it. We also LOVED LOVED LOVED the GoGo Kidz travelmate. Everyone at the airport commented on how cool and easy it looked, as we wheeled DD around in her seat. It was expensive, but worth it.

The bungee cord kept it attached to the wheeling bag pretty securely, and then we just kept him in his stroller until we got to the gate.
Come to think of it... we brought our Marathon, not our Boulevard... not that it matters.
