As in the kind you wear under a dress. . . not to bed.
I was surprised that one of the girls at church (who is pretty chic, btw), mentioned that she was wearing a slip. (The context was that she got it caught on her dress and had ended up getting a friend to help.) And then shortly after that, somebody at Anthropologie suggested one to go with a dress.
I didn't realize people our age really wore slips. Do you wear one? Under what? A regular dress? Skirt and shirt? I know when my mother tried getting me to wear one as an early teenager, it was to act as a liner for the skirt. But most of the skirts I wear aren't thin enough to need that anyway.
Just a random thing I was wondering. They did have a really cute one at Anthropologie, but I wouldn't know what in the world to use it for.
Re: NBR: Do people still wear slips these days?
Bump's slow tonight....
And I adore Anthro. I want to move in there and wear the aprons and bake something then lounge in the cozy bed with all those candles. Oooooh I love anthro so so much.
I was actually wondering this recently as well.
I do not, and never have worn a slip.
I dont wear pantyhose either....I use a razor (as in shaving my legs...I'm not getting gruesome here) and some self tanner!
I wear a full slip anytime I wear a dress, except in the very hottest weather. Sometimes I wear a half slip under a skirt if there is chance that it might be on the thin or clingy side. And I wear a camisole under all but the most casual tshirts.
I have to say, I also wear incredibly boring underwear on a day to day basis, usually nude or black and always chosen for function over form.
I wonder if my husband is annoyed or at least disheartend I gave up "cute" and "sexy" undies during pregnancy and they havent really made a comback?
I think I might have to work on that...
I was kidding.
i know...sometimes i cant help going further
