Too much cake in a week?

We are going to get H a cake for his actual birthday (6th), the photographer is doing smash cake photos at the end of his 1 yr pics (8th), and he will have a cake during his b-day party (10th).

Is this way too much cake in one week or is it not even an issue because he will mostly smear it on his face?

    Are you concerned about the sugar overload? I brought up that concern with my friend who does all of DD's photos and she suggested making a sugar-free cake.

    Yes.  How do you do a sugar free cake?  I personally think sugar is better than artificial sweeteners.

    If he were always getting that much cake in a week, yes, I'd say that's too much. You won't (I'm guessing) be making a habit of having cake 3x a week, so don't sweat it. 

    And, he won't be eating 3 whole cakes. The amount he actually ingests will probably less than you anticipate.

    Personally, if you don't make a habit out of it, I think you're fine. He's going to wear the majority of it anyway. :)

    Thanks ladies!  It seems like a a lot, but I guess he really won't be eating much of it.

    I actually haven't thought any further than the idea!  I don't plan on having her eat any of her cakes so it's not a big concern for me.

    Google apple sauce cakes. You can use it instead of sugar and it still tastes good.

    I've done 2 of the 3 so far (actual bday and smash cake pics) and I can tell you that her belly was pobably the most cake free place on her. Ok, IN her. She poked at the Bday cupcake, had a few licks of frosting off my finger and was angry I wouldnt let her play with the candle.  The smash cake I iced with whipped cream and she thought stomping it/shoving it was awesome. I don't think she knew it was edible until I showed her. So....I wouldnt worry. Seriously.
