  • Not only will it be fine, it will be GREAT for your ds!

Mine has been in MDO since he turned 1 and he LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES it!    The program he goes to doesn't run through all of the summer so he's been home everyday for the past couple of weeks and he is so bored that he gets excited just to go to church to go to Sunday school!

  • He'll have a blast. And you'll have some downtime. MDO is a wonderful wonderful thing.

DD hasn't been going this summer (ours does run year-round), but she talks about her friends all the time. Plus she gets invited to more b-day parties, which she LOVES.

  • Emmy goes to MDO not because we need someone to take care of her during the day, but because it's very important for her to have friends and be around kids her age.  It was hard at first and i would call my mom on the phone during drop off and pick up to get the play by play.  My mom had a hard time adjusting the first week too and would come early to see how she's doing.  I didn't really put her in there for the educational part because Dh and I spend a lot of time with her reading, counting, and computer stuff.  I really want her to run and play and learn social skills (which I can't teach her that, she has to learn for herself).  I also like the arts and crafts and getting little gifts from her.   It took her about 2 weeks to adjust but then after that, she loved going to school and seeing her friends and teachers.

same for us.  dd loves it and has gone since she was 11months.  my ds will start in a month at the same school dd goes to.  i can't wait.  you'll love it and so will your ds.

  • It will be fine!  Better to start now and get him acclimated to a program before his sibling arrives.  I think you'll appreciate his time away even more once your new baby arrives.  At least that was my experience when we went from one child to two.
