TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

My dh is so rude.

I don't think we'll be having sex tonight. He's been home from work for 5 minutes and I'm already pissed at him.

He always walks away from me when I'm talking.

Like just now: He walks in the door and I was telling him all about my doctor's appt today. He literally turns around and starts walking out the back door as I'm mid-sentence! So I stop talking and he says (from outside) "go ahead, I can still hear you." So I continue (at this point can't see him, b/c I'm cooking and he's on the back porch, so I'm just talking loudly  and assuming he can hear me through the screen door.)

When I finish my (LONG) story about everything that went down at the doctor, he doesn't respond. So I walk around to the back door and he's mowing the lawn.

WTF?

And he does this ALL THE TIME (walking away while I'm talking). And it's not just that he's uncomfortable hearing about my appt. I'll be telling him a random funny story and he'll just get up while I'm mid sentence (to go grab a beer, go to the bathroom, or whatever)

DRIVES.ME.NUTS.

So, I hope what we did is enough, b/c my vagina is closed for business.

Re: My dh is so rude.

  • That's obnoxious. Have you talked to him about this? I couldn't stand it if my DH had so little respect for what I am saying.

  • DH does the same to me!  drives me absolutely crazy, i wait all day for him to come home so i can talk to someone other than my 3yr old and he just ignores me or does what you said, walks away.

Then when i stop talking he tries to act like he was listening and repeats what i just said but i know he's not really "listening".  grrr!  MEN!

EXACTLY! And he almost acts "offended" that I would even suggest that he doesn't listen to me.

    Angry

I'm planning to (seriously) talk to him about it (I've casually mentioned it in the past), but not today. I'm too mad and I'll flip out. I need to wait until I'm calm.

  • I'm sorry to say this, but I feel SO MUCH better knowing others go through this, too!

Honestly, my DH is generally a really nice guy. When I typed this out, I looked at it and thought, 'they are going to think he's a total as*hole' and really he isn't, but this one thing needs to stop. STAT.

  • My DH often does the same and when I am bothered by it, he says he knows everything I said.  He can often repeat what I said but leaves out important details. :)  It is really annoying.

I am guilty of doing this. It drives my DH nuts.

In our relationship, DH is the talker, and I'm the do-er. It's like we switched genders or something.

Granted, I'm not going to go mow the lawn (because I don't like mowing lawns), but I will roam from room to room doing stuff (icking up the house, laundry, putting dished away) while DH is talking. I am listening to him, and can recite what he says word for word.

But at the same, sh!t has to be done, so I multitask. It drives me nuts sometimes when he can't multitask.

  • My husband did that when we first moved in together because, well his family just communicates very poorly and are a bit odd.  After we talked about it and I told him how it made me feel like he didn't care about what I had to say, he stopped.  Now even at dinner he'll pay attention, even if I can tell he's wanting me to hurry up so he can move onto the next task at hand.

Just talk to him and if he doesn't get it then turn on the CLOSED sign.

My husband does this! It drives me insane. Though moving on to mowing the lawn is definitely a new one, I'd have been really ticked as well.
