I'm currently on More Milk Plus Special Blend and Reglan. I pump between 10 and 40 ML a time and LO gets around 1.5 OZ nursing - pretty pathetic.
I ordered Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle and was planning on switching to just these to see what would happen....should I try and take them all together? Can you take too much Fenugreek (as it's already in the More Milk Plus)?
I've been working with a LC and have stumped 3 of them. One suggested PCOS even though I have no symptoms otherwise. Any advice would be welcomed! Has anyone gotten completly off suplementing with this low of supply before?
Re: Help me please! Low supply issues - med/herb question...
I have a low supply too. I know how hard this must be for you, and I commend you on being so diligent. I also stumped the LCs because I have no good reason for a low supply myself. The best guess they have for me is that I got horrible edema from all the fluids I got during my induction and they think my breats were swollen. Also, DD has a bad latch and they think the combo told my boobs to make less. Did you get a lot of fluids during your birth? That could be something. You can take all the herbs together with the More Milk Plus. I was taking up to 15 fenugreek tabs a day, now I am back down to 9. Theres no side effect that could hurt you from all of them. Also, try eating oatmeal, drinking dark beer (one a day), drinking lots of water, and drink mother's milk tea. Look for a "Low Supply Ladies Check-In" on this board. Its a great place to get and share info and get support. Ladies like us need it! It really helped me get through some tough days.
Interesting (about the edema), I would have not thought about that. I was pretty swollen to begin with and then was pumped full of fluids as well, I'm sure my breasts were swollen, but I guess I would have thought that once the swelling went away, so would the problem, maybe not!
Have you had your thyroid checked? I also stumped the LCs (and actually had supply lower than yours) It turns out my thyroid has crashed post pregnancy. Meds have helped a little, although it hasn't fixed my low supply problem.?
