Weird faces: Anyone else's LO?

I wish I had a video of this thing Fay has been doing. Words cannot do it justice. It's kind of weird, and every time she has done it DH and I go... "Uh, we hope that's not a sign of something weird going on with her."?

?She opens her eyes as wide as she can, strains her face until it's bright red, sticks her tongue out, and tenses her entire body. Sometimes this is accompanied by a raspberry. Sometimes she laughs afterwards, which makes me think she's doing it on purpose. The look on her face is really funny (I mean, it's actually hilarious), but it's also SO CONTORTED that it's kind of scary to look at. I have no idea what she's doing, and it just started. My mom says not to worry about it (she has seen the whole thing) but sometimes my mom blows stuff off too easily. ?

?Anyone else's LO enjoy making bizarre faces like this? ?

  • Sounds cute.  Caleb just got into making some pretty funny weird faces too.  If she doesn't seem to be in pain I wouldn't worry too much.

On a side note... small world. I just recognized you and Fay in the photo when I opened the post.  Caleb and I met you guys at the Park this summer, you might not remember us though... the four of us had lunch under the trees and pushed Caleb and Fay on the swings.  Just thought it was funny to run into a post of yours on The Bump.  Hi again!

  • Katie does this with her lips when she's really interested in something that's she's holding.

  • Yep, my LO is constantly making new faces. And if I make one at him, he tries to imitate it. It's hilarious.

  • Pierce does something similar. He tenses his whole body, makes his eyes wide and makes a noise to go with it. He tends to do it when he's frustrated.
