I say wow because I just posted a BFP post on trying to conceive and got some pretty not so nice responses. I posted twice by mistake, second post had more content, so they're assuming I am MUD. It said my first post didn't go through, so I posted another one and decided to include more details.
I am not MUD. I just got double lines with a first response pregnancy test!! My period is due Thursday, but I decided to go ahead a take a test tonight.
Now what do I do? Do I just need to make my 8 week appt? Or can I go get a blood test done at my PCP?
Thanks ladies!
Re: Wow, what's next? BFP!
Yeah, not sure why you'd go to the TRYING to get pregnant board in the first place.
Just call your Dr, tell them you got a + and schedule an appt. Most people have no need for bloodwork unless you've had IF or a loss. They will probably just wait to see you until 8-10 weeks.

Good point, I guess I went there to let them know since I post on there some and to let them know I won't be on that board anymore!
Thanks for the info!
TTGP board doesn't welcome drive-by BFPs and since none of them seemed to know who you were I would say that you were not too active there.
Just call you OB/GYN tell them and they will schedule your appts. You don't need a blood test. If anything, they would just have you pee in a cup and use a test strip. However, in all reality, the strength of their PG is nothing more than an EPT from the store.
Don't waste your money at the Drs or your Drs time. Just go to Target and pick up an EPT.
Congrats!
Just so you know, I sometimes posted on TTGP, and was a TTGP chat regular, and I didn't even post my BFP on there. The ladies are all very sweet and knowledgable, but it is seen as rude to post a BFP if you don't contribute regularly to the board. It's kind of like, "Hi random internet strangers who don't know me from Adam's cat! You are all still TTGP and I just got a BFP!" Lol. They prefer for you to go straight to 1st tri, or your due date board.
Ha!! Bullshiit.

This is getting pretty silly now! I didn't know the "rules" on saying I have a BFP.... I wasn't trying to throw it anyones face. I wouldn't do something like that.
And yes, I have posted on that board.
Oh come on Saucy, we all know you're going to miss her and wonder why she's not posting there anymore.

Regardless what you say you obviously were not active there because otherwise you would know that random BFPs are annoying and a big no-no.
Also, if you would not have came on here griping about your response from them you would have gotten a warmer response here. A lot of us are TTGP graduates.
Congratulations! Getting that BFP is super exciting, for sure, so don't let anything that happened on here tonight diminish your joy. You might want to consider lurking around here for a while and reading back through old posts to see if any of your questions have been answered. Also, your doc will be a good resource for answering questions, so write down anything you think of to ask when you have your appt. GL!!
Congratulations!!!!
I used to post on GP when I was TTC #1 and it was fine. I don't know when the "drive-by" BS started. For the love, it's not like she posted her BFP on the TTTC board or something. Perhaps she posted often enough in her mind to think that that was her home board and thought nothing of posting her BFP? Just because she didn't post 50+ times a day doesn't mean that she didn't think of it as her home board. There are some people who take other people's BFPs wayyyyyy too seriously. (BTW, I'm not talking about those who have IF or TTTC...I'm talking about the people who try for a pretty standard amount of time getting upset at BFPs).
LucyGoosey: You couldn't have said this any better! I'm TTGP for the first time and am on that board to find out TTC info...no sides...I too didn't know that they're are "rules" then again, I'm a newbie.
I hope to be on this board real soon!!
And congratulations to the OP. Call your OB and set up your 8-week appointment.
completely agree with this. I posted on TTGP here & there as well. I never understood why people got their panties in such a bunch about people posting BFP's. I can understand not giving a crap if some stranger is PG, but why would you get so worked up about it too?
