TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

IUI is cancelled

I'm at a loss of words.  I've spent my morning in tears.

My OB had to go do a delivery, so I had the other OB in the office.  He does measure follicles slighly differently, but honestly, I don't have ANYTHING of any size in there.  This is CD18.  He measured my biggest one to be 8mm...down from 12 Friday.  He said just to try naturally, that there was no point of doing a trigger shot or IUI this time around.

This sucks.  DH and I talked about next steps after the appointment.  I'm pretty sure that we will start going to an RE for next cycle.  I'm going to give DH another day for it all to soak in and then call to get the referral.

Re: IUI is cancelled

  • I am so sorry honey.

Honestly, I think it is time to speak to an RE. They are more specialized, and can just give you more attention and care than a regular OB/GYN can.

I am so sorry this happened.

  • I'm so sorry the IUI is cancelled.

But, I'm surprised you're doing meds/IUI with your OB, and not an RE.  I think you'll feel much more comfortable with an RE.  After all, they're the infertility specialist, not the OB.

    Best of luck to you!

I know...it is.  I've been there for a bit, but DH has been hesitant.  I think this convinced him that its the right thing to do.  It sounds like my doctor refers to the RE in the area that everyone on the bump boards recommend....so I hope he's good!

  • Oh April :(  I'm so sorry.  I agree with the others though, I think going to an RE will be really helpful at this point.  I honestly don't think my OB would have come up with as good a plan for me as my RE did.
